oil through PCV vaclve?
oil through PCV vaclve?
i have a carbed 383 and i am having alot of problems with oil being sucked through the pcv valve and into the motor. i had a PCV valve from a 350 on it but would not stay put in the valve cover at hi rpm's so i put in a PCV from a 454 wich worked. the vacume line runs from the back of the carb and T's off for the power brakes. i tried putting in a elbow PCV gromet but i am still getting oil through. i think that i will have to get a deflector shield welded into my valve cover from keeping oil from splashing up on on it.
has anyone else had this problem or have any ideas on what i can do to fix it?
thanks
Brian

Brian I think you solved your own problem.
The job of the PCV is to scavenge oil vapors from the motor. Without the baffle in your valve cleaner you are sucking up your oil.
