Eratic idle!!!!
Eratic idle!!!!
Don't laugh, but I swapped in a 350 and am still using the old chip from the L03. When I first start the car the engine idles great just where I set it, but once I drive it for a minute or two and come to a stop the idle goes crazy. It just fluctuates from 500 to 1000 rpms. Eventually it will die if I let it continue to idle. I adjusted the TPS and IAC and even changed both sensors, but to no avail. The cam is - 214/224 and .471/.491. Is the chip keeping me from getting the thing to stay idling?

It just might be the tuning. You might want to talk with Traxion about getting some software and tuning it yourself....Post on the PROM board. I know Traxion is writing a tech article on how to do it.. he is also in the Md. area...

I'm thinking I should get a custom chip anyways, but hopefully what you suggested can atleast get it to stay idling until I can do that. Maybe a Howell? I've heard they do lots of the vortec swap chips.
Where in MD are you?
