i am getting ready to put the car away this winter along with a rebuild, i plan on putting my hooker comp. headers on i plan on running a single 3" inch system back minus the cat. i live in michigan so there are no sniffer tests here. whould i buy just a cat back system and a pipe to replace the cat or how should i do this? also i am having a problem when i first start the car up it smokes white/ grey smoke for about 10 sec and then it doesnt smoke i go to take off and it acts like it wants to die but after one minuet or so it is fine. what is making it do this. any help would be great
thanks

also should i have a y pipe made at the local muffler shop or is there a y pipe that bolts right up to the headers i plan on puttin on the car?

I would buy headers that the company also makes a Y-pipe for. You will get the best flow like that, I made the mistake and got the hooker comps with no Y pipe. I would suggest Flowtech headers, I have heard nothign but good about them. On the catback I would just have a piece of tubing clamped in. I wouldn't get it welded inxase you ever want or need to put tghe cat in.
