starter questions

Ok, lastnight it rained really bad on the way home.. when i got to my street i had to drive through about 10in of flooded street. At this time was doubting the big red machiene, but i had faith that it would make it through this huge puddle. My Z didn't fail me going through this flooded street, and got me home fine.. About 3 hours later i had to leave again (it wasn't raining anymore) so, i jump in the mighty Z and leave. i come back home about an hour later and park the Z for the night. the next morning i go out to go work and Wham, car doesn't start.. i'm thinking to myself its the starter..But, im not hearing the starter "click" when i turn the key. So, i check the battery and its fine. I go to my garage and grab a crowbar and tap the starter. I go to start the car and hear the nice rumble of the V8 . Now i park my car in my driveway and got a ride to work (i had a friend on the way while i checked the starter with the crowbar) so, now after letting it dry all day i come home and start the car 15 times with no problems. I'm wondering what u guys think, should i replace it anyways or is it still good after its dried out? Or, could i be facing some future problems with it? Oh, and to avoid some flame, i know it was dumb to drive through the puddle, but how was i supposed to get home?

Thx,
-Abe

Sorry it was so long.

In all seriousness, carry the crow bar in the car for a while. If you experience more no-starts, replace the starter.

Speaking from experience, it sounds like the soleniod and not the starter. The soleniod should be ~$15-$25 IIRC, but you might need to remove the starter. Do as FJK says, and if it starts to happen more frequently replace the soleniod.
