My drivers side power lock wants to lock when I push the button, but it only goes half way which doesn't engage the lock. Before I tear off the door panel, anybody have ideas?

My Formula

 

Mine do that every now and then. Take some WD-40 and soak the door latch mechanism(the part that graps and hoolds the door post.) Then work the lock back and forth about 10 times. If that doesnt help, then take off the door panel and soak the other side of the latch mechanism with oil.

When you jerk the door panel, clean the lock mech and then use some white grease--while you're at it do the same for the power windows.

Birmass, my winter rat wagon does that, lol... i usally just hit unlock the lock really really quick. The momentum gives it enough speed to lock the door, hehehe.
