whats the difference between 86 and up intake manifolds and 86 down intakes

the center bolt holes are on a different angle.

yeah, 87 and up center intake bolts are on a 73 degree angle and the earlier were 90 degrees to the head. You could machine an old intake's center bolt holes to fit the newer heads if that was a problem.
