LT1 Bleeding profusly

I have an lt1 in a camaro. its leaking bad while not running on the drivers side of the motor. the back of the engine and the valve covers are free of oil leaks, so its not the intake or the valve covers. i dont think its the rear main since the oil usually doesnt travel forward on a car, and its showing dripping from the filter and the pan drain bolt. im thinking its just the filter or the presure sensor. any suggestions?

If it was the rear main seal oil would be coming from the flywheel/flexplate area. Doesn't sound like your problem. I would check the oil pressure sensor/distributor (you running that or opti?), and the filter area.

It could be the pressure sensor mounted abouve the oil filter adapter, or the bypass valve plug in the case (rare). Your filter adapter itself might be leaking, or the oil cooler tubes that attach there.

Thank you for the input guys, i think somewhere between you two the answer will be found. hehe i called the dealership and i dropped the car off at a shop and it wont be at my expense so....either way. Yeah i agree if it was rear main seal it would be well for one, not usually on the sides of the outside of the tranny, because it will usually puddle at the bottom of the bellhousing and drip out that and it would screw the clutch which it hasnt. i felt for the "dreaded intake leak" and its bone dry...soo its either filter, sensor, or pan itself, either way, im not paying for it hehe i love warranties.
