MSD Ignition: Whats the difference between.............

MSD-5, MSD-6A, MSD-6T, and MSD-6AL?? Which 1 is better for the L98??

Well read the ad in summit :-). I'm not sure about the 5, I think it's only for marine applications or something.

6A actually fires the spark plug 6 times, for a more complete burn of the air/fuel mix. 6AL is exactly the same except it has a rev limiter built in so you won't overrev your engine. Handy in cars with a manual transmission, less so in those with an automatic.

I'm not sure about the 6T, I think it's meant for circle track or something and it can take high RPMs for longer.

jeff pretty much covered it. read a catalog to get all the info. i prefer the 6al because of the rev limiter. it would depend on you application. if you were going to add more msd parts later, like spark retard or seperate rev limiter. i use a msd shift light and can use the same chips in the shift light as i do my msd box. lot better to have the interchangeablilty then have to have 2 kinds of chips.
