1 or 2 piece
How can you tell just by looking at the block, or the crank if the block has a 1 or 2 piece rear main seal?

Here's a 2-piece crank.

A one-piece crank has a smaller bolt pattern and a completely round crank flange that a metal-clad lip seal will install onto.
