Changing fuel pump

I'm going to be changing the fuel pump in the next couple of days and was reading in my Haynes that to release the fuel preasure you have to remove the fuse indentified as FP. Well I went to take a look at the fuse block under the driver's side and could not find it. I am not looking in the right place? Are they talking about some onther fuse block?? Is there another way to release the pressure. Any info will be helpful.

I had the same problem.

The stock location for the fuse is by the battery. The fuse holder is attached to the fender. IIRC, it's a 30 amp fuse.

Unplug it then start the car. It'll die when the pressure is gone.

I always crank it over a few more times just for good measure.

Also remove the gas cap before you do that. That will relieve all the pressure in the return line.

And do it outside, not in a garage. Gas fumes are dangerous.

AJ_92RS,
I really can't find anything. Is in an obvious place that I just not seeing or do I need to move the battery to get to it. I looked all along the fender and couldn't find anything that had a fuse. Is it small, big. Is it on the inside of the fender. Sorry, but I probably sound like a real idiot. I just can't find it. Maybe I'm just looking too hard. I'll go take a look at it again when I get out of school.
