compression/mileage

forgive me for asking a stupid question... but, does LOWER compression give a car BETTER mileage, or is it the other way around... also,, will a car be able to use CHEAP pump gas (regular unleaded - 87) on 9.5:1 compression.... thanks

Higher compression will give better fuel mileage if nothing else is changed. You should be able to get away with 9.5 & 87 octane but you may need to reduce the advance to a less than ideal setting.
