New to the board with a Fuel Pump prob..
Hi all, I was referred here by some friends and you look like a great bunch of people.
My boss recently gave me his 82 Trans Am 305 CFI. It won't start. I don't hear the fuel pump prime at all. But something weird happened. When I had the left side of the car jacked up (I was swapping the 14" wheels for 16"'s), I tried cranking it for the heck of it. The pump primed and the car started! I set it down, tried again, and it started again. When I went out today, it wouldn't start anymore.
Does this sound like it's the pump? Could I have a bad pump relay, or is there a connection that can go bad somewhere that I may have just jarred a bit when working on the car that has since come loose again?
Once it got started, it ran great and didn't die or anything.... any ideas...?

Sounds reasonable.
Welcome aboard.
You'll learn a lot here, but the one thing you will hear is, Keep it simple. Always post your findings, this'll help the more experienced guys here figure what you problem might be.
Check: (In this order...)
-Fuses
-Fuel pump relay (Can remember right off where it is - Others will chime in and tell ya. Its under under the hood by the battery or on the drivers side firewall)
-Any fuel pump wiring you can locate
-Fuel pressure
Try to eliminate those first. Changing a bad fuel pump in these cars can be a b#tch, but it can be done if you are determined enough.
