Replacing Rockers Worth It?
A buddy has a set of 1.6 rockers and a set of 1.5 roller tip rockers that he will sell to me for $70. I was just wondering if it was worth it to replace my stock 1.5 rockers. Which one would give give the most if any gains? What kind of gains would I get?

Gains would depend on the rest of your combo (cam & heads). I doubt there would be much difference between the 2, if the rest of your stuff is stock.
But either would be a significant improvement, just from getting the stock rubber ones out of there and putting in something with some consistency. You wouldn't believe how much the stock garbage ones flex and give away lift, and how different it is for each valve.
Put some new valve springs and valve guide seals in it while you're at it. Use some one of the major cam mfrs' entry-level spring (Comp 981 for example, or the equivalent from Crane, Lunati, Ultradyne, etc. - not GM or K-Motion or other "budget" ones) along with the retainers and keepers that go with them, get rid of the metal splash shields and rotators, and stack about .105" of shim under the exhausts.

If I went with the 1.6 rocker wouldn't I be limited on the cam I can put in. Would I have too much lift? I know it depends on the cam but it seems that I would be limited. If I put a cam in it I would want one that would work well with a 350 also just in case I go to a 350 someday.
