waterneck wires

I want to get a chrome water neck on my intake to finish off my engine compartment, but I have these 2 harnesses that clip into the stock one I'm using now. What are they for? Water temp is the only thing I could think of. Can I get rid of these or do I need to have them plugged in. It's a non CC car by the way.

my guess would be thermal vacuum switch, butthat'd be vacuum lines not wires, second guess would be temp sender. you ought to be able to relocate it/them to the intake. chrome water neck nice

If you've taken the ECM out of the loop as far as having any effect on running the engine you can just forget about them.
