Anyone who installed an MSD ignition before, help me out :)

Sorry for the double post, but the other subject was vauge, and kinda looked dumb, even if it is for a dumb question! Anyways, so you don't have to go out and check again. here it is. I installed the new system, MSD 6A, and Blaster SS coil, from the stock dual coil setup. The orange and black wires are going to the coil. In the instructions how I interpret them, there are 2 connectors which I found. One of them has a white wire, and pink wire (2 wire connector) The white is supposed to go to the MSD 6A's white wire to trigger the spark, and the pink one should go to the red wire on the 6A for the switched 12V line. I didn't run the other 12 volt line (why run a y, if they are both 12 volts) I will probably try this out of desperation tomorrow morning....What am I doing wrong? Do I need something off the 4 wire connector on the distributer, or do our non hei distributors use a magnetic pickup, in which case, the solution is simple.
Help guys!
Thanks
Corry
