Kevs - 195* stat, no drilled holes. I'm going to a 170* stat with 2 holes to it.. see if it helps.

I have 2 things to try this week.. flushing the radiator, and puting an arim dam back on my car, once this ebay auction is done.

rjmcgee - all hoses are new along w/ the radiator.

Btw,care is throwing a code 33 again, and after a bit of driving throwing code 32.

got some good news and a question now! Yay for me for going ahead and doing my own goddamn work. There is maybe 1/50 shops in Delaware that is trustworthy. Anyway, when they put the stat in, they like globbed liquid gasket all over, it was covering part of the stat itself, and the stat was like glued into place. Also, they had a connector disconnected! It runs through the same plastic sleeve the Alternator does. Its a black, Black w/ white stripe, Green, and red (I think) wires to a 5 port connector. Any ideas where that goes? Could be my whole problem.

I about pee'd myself, and flung my girl in the air. I took out the stat, cleaned it made sure it was working, and did it properly. Flushed the radiator and got black clumps of **** out. Did it twice to make sure. Rehooked all connections, even the one I didn't know, it's to the intake. Started her right up, ALL codes are gone, no SES light, and she is purring like a kitten! NO drag, and the temp stays around 195*!!!!!!!!!!!

She is FIXED. Time for me to clean up, relax, and get some. >

Then, I'm off tomorrow to work on her car and get #2 working. lol

Thank you! And I want to thank everyone who tossed in thier 2 cents worth, it helps tons. Soooo...

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you,.
NOW - second car, new problem lol

When this happened, here is the story.

I hopped in her car, the idle was high, around 1800-2000 RPMS since is was a bit chilly out. I waited a whole minute and a half to let the idle go down, it dropped once to 1500 RPMS. (She was crying because her dog ran away, and he still is roaming around)

SO I left, choke light came on before I left the driveway.
The car was acting like it was missing, I shut it off and it still sounded like it was misfiring, plus no power. I pull in the drivfeway, shut it off, and what happens? The car "diesels" for 10 freaking minutes, I was about to call the fire department.

Well... I can think of 1 thing.. She uses 87 octane in her car. 1986 IROC 5.0 V8 305. I told her it could be deposits, but the problem occurred right after I started her up and had a choke idiot light.

She says it's not the gas... what do you all think?

(It doesn't run, in a panic she yanked the plug wires from the distributer... and ripped the caps of lol

Oh, and if possible the distributer order. Thanks guys!
