treadless street slicks still good????

i found a pair of mickey thompson street slicks or whatever the are calle i am not sure but the have no tread left on them are they still good can i still use them even if i just use them for the track. the kid only wants 50 bucks for them and they are on some good *** rimss too so let me know what u guys think.
