Dipstick location

Anyone know if the 350 engines have the dipstick on the drivers side of the engine ?

350's dipstick

Through 79 the dip stick is on driver's side. 80 and up, it's on the passenger's side.

Interesting. So if my dipstick is on the drivers side, that would make it impossible for the engine to be from the years 84-86 right ?

If you're curious, just check the casting date on the rear ledge of the case:

will i be able to see this while the engine is installed ?

Yes, but you may need to clean off any "grunge" that has accululated there. A good hand light and possibly a mirror would help, but they're usually visible while installed.
