TB airfoil and cone filter
And two questions more from Flameredroc's question factory.
Brand new in:
I'd like to know if those throttle body airfoils do any good (Jegs part number 896-100-001)?
And, I've seen several engines nowm having a cone air filter mounted directly to the throttle body. Whats that for a system, and how do those guys live without a MAF?
Thanks, as always

From what I hear they really don't do much... they're in the path of airflow and therefore a restriction. I don't have any tests or info regarding that though.

The idea is to suck in massive amounts of direct (hot) air instead of a lesser amount of cool air. I really wouldn't personally use one unless I had a ram-air hood or something to cool down the air in this area. I will be getting a ram-air hood, but I'll be getting the ram-air box too, so...
Oh, and if you're like me, you have speed density... no MAF sensor.
I believe it's a 91-92 thing. Others have converted to speed density. Thread
