Code 32, then no start
help with no start
My Check engine light came on a few times, I assumed it was bad gas as I just got it out for the summer and had not driven it much. So tonight I got home and retrieved the only trouble code, a 32 scratched my head as to where "sensor 1 and 2" are, and now it wont start.
Its an 87 iroc 305 tpi, and cranks just fine, will catch, but not stay running. Plenty of gas and all I did was put a jumper wire in to retrieve the trouble code.
Also its been raining here like crazy.

Adam,
The '32' is for an EGR system failure. There are several possibilities, depending upon how the code occurred. If the code sets as soon as the engine is running or shortly thereafter, the problem is more likely an electrical problem with the EGR vacuum control solenoid valve or the EGR diagnostic temperature switch. If the code sets only after a period of cruising at light- to medium-throttle, it is more likely a problem with the EGR valve itself, or still possibly the vacuum solenoid (but a mechanical failure) or vacuum hoses.
So, how does the light come on / code set?

the code comes on sporatically, but only after the engine is very warm, after 60 miles or so
Also, the car is not starting

i've never heard of egr not alowing car to start.. I would check your fuel.. make sure your fuel pump is coming on when you turn the key. if it is check spark and the basic stuff.
roc dried out today, my hope that it was a moisture problem is pretty much gone.
The fuel pump has 138k on it, is it safe to assume thats the prob? It comes on just fine, but the engine does not sound like it is getting enough fuel.
Should I bite the bullet and buy a fuel pressure gauge? The Schrader valve is right there begging me to utilize it.

A pressure gauge can be a good tool to have in your collection, but get one that has all the adapters. If you ever encounter a Fjord, GM TBI, or SFI engine, Bosch CIS, etc., you'll need a different connection.
