HOT problem

I have a 355 with around 10.5 comp. 234 dur
488 lift 3000 stall in a 87 Z28.
I recently added a aluminum radiator this keeps the car 190 while Im driving but quickly heats up in town and at lights. Im running stock fan and water pump with no thermostat. Should I replace one or both these to help out. Or any other ideas?
Thanks

converting to a dual fan setup from an iroc might be a solution, or a high flow water pump...

A thermostat may help some because without it the water will not stay in the radiator long enough to take full advantage of the heat dissapating ability of the radiator.
Secondly, Are you running a clutch fan? If so, check that it is functioning properly by feeling if there is a strong flow of air behind the fan after the engine is fully warmed up.
Thirdly and most important is how close is fan to the radiator? It should be as close as possible and you need to have a full shroud in place to be sure all the air is pulled through the radiator and not from around it. The problem you describe appears to be related to this because you are heating up when there is no air being forced through the radiator. When driving, the fan is not as effective the air being forced through the front of the car but as soon as you stop you need the fan to draw the air through the radiator and a full coverage shroud to assist in creating a suction behind the radiator.

LOW performance people should drive low performance vehicles!

my friend....slap a stat in there and I PROMISE!!! no problems. he has it pegged up there when he talks about the coolant not staying in the radiator long enough. put a 180' stat in and you should be fine..
