Engine stuttering when accelerating. HELP!

I have an 88 GTA with the 350 TPI. The other day, I was driving to work in a torrential downpour and the check engine light came on, but went out a minute later. Ever since then, the car has been stuttering when I accelerate. It idles fine and when I get it up to speed, it cruises just fine. It's not missing on one cylinder, it's making a weird noise when every cylinder hits. I ran trouble codes tonight and got code 22 for the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). I replaced it and it's still doing the same thing. Also, when I first start it up after not driving for a while, it runs great and accelerates just fine. But after about a quarter mile of driving, it starts suddenly. The engine doesn't have to be warmed up either. It just starts. Could it have something to do with the EGR? How about the fuel pump? I replaced the fuel filter about 500 miles ago. There is a noticeable power loss when it's accelerating. Kind of lurches too. If anybody has any ideas, please let me know ASAP! Thanks! Matt

Uhhh - yeah... Just gimme a minute while I "drain the tailboom" for stowage.

:lala:

Anyway, just to appease us, pull the distributor cap and wipe inside with a paper towel. See anything on the towel?

(I'm a little surprised no one jumped on this one sooner.)

Whats the voltage at when the engine is running?

I had a bad alternator on the weekend that had voltage hovering around 11-12V, and it would be REALLY lurchy when accelerating. I changed it today, it runs at about 14V and runs nice, smooth and strong now.
