whats the difference???

i just got my 350 block bored .040 and im looking for a set of pistons. I saw some flat top pistons and some domed pistons. What is the difference between them two? (i know one is flat and other is domed so dont act smart) Anyways i wanted to know which one is the best one to go with? Do different ones change the compression ratio? anyways i was just curious about this before i went out and bought some pistons. Thanks guys

You hit the nail on the head. Domed pistons will give you more compression than flat top pistons. Before buying, I would double check you combustion chamber size, to make sure that you maintain a streetable CR, if thats your goal. Also check to make sure that you will have sufficient piston to valve clearance, because that could make a mess.
