little vent next to radioo pod??

little vent next to radioo pod??

hey guys, in my bird right behind the radio pod on the drivers side there is a little brack liek vent thats a rectangle, it is open at all times and it drives me nuts, when its hot out its liek direct engine heat on me and cold air on me when its cold. is there something thats stuck open?? also on the pass side the little vent on the dash leaks and sounds horrible goin down the highway, can i fix this?? thanks

i get the ame type of air flow through those two vents as you described i assume it normal. its only alittle tiny flow i am guessing from the engine bay. its done it ever since i have had the car.

alright so i guess the 2 vents are related. i have to fix mien cause it drives me crazy

IIRC in gms, and most cars for that matter, those vents are supposed to vent and provide some fresh air to the cabin when the HVAC is off. The whole idea is to provide continuous cerculation of fresh air in case there is an exaust leak.

wait so i can't do anyting about this?? that completly sucks. does any1 know where they get there air from in the firwall so i can block it off??

the air comes in from the cowl. If you dont like the temp of the air coming in, reach over and move the temperature selector **** under the fan control to the temperature that most suits you. Dont know about the summer time but im sure you probably still have heat. I just leave it set to hot all winter so that any air that comes in is warm.
