how hard to replace ignition lock cylinder?

I lost my keys including the dummy key used to get copies made. I have a new lock cylinder in so I can't just use the VIN to get the key codes. So, my options are eith find the dummy key or replace the lock cylinder. I've looked everywhere for my dummy key so it's looking like I'm going to have to fork out the $53 bucks for the cylinder + $27 for each key. But I don't want to have to pay to have installed if I can do it myself. Has anyone done one of these and how hard is it? Do I have to remove the steering wheel and if so how hard is that to do? Also, it the repair manual it said to turn the key to "Run" how am I supposed to do that without the key? Any advice/help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i'd rate it as about as easy as it gets, just takes a few special tools, puller and lock plate depresser. if it has an air bag i'd research that a little before i jumped in and did it.
