Bogging

I have an 85 TA with the 305 LG4 motor.my problem is, when Im stopped at a light or whatever, when I give my car gas to go, It bogs down real bad. If I punch It, It almost stalls and then takes off spinning the tires. I had the carb rebuilt with a new tps, changed the EGR valve(GM), and changed the plugs/wires. what could this be?? the only thing else I can think of is the fuel pump. any info will help! thanks

My old LG4 used to do that too. Mine was caused by the air valve on the carb sticking open. So I'd go to take off at WOT and it would like stall out, then take off real fast. Don't know if this is your problem or not.

yea, this looks like a CT thread. so the air valve your talking about is the choke (closes when cold, opens when hot...) I thought thats suppose to be open when running?? I noticed when I first start it when cold ,it revs up to like 1800-2000 RPMs, and I cant get it to kick down. Im bringing it back to the guy who did my carb tomorrow. thanks guys

Air Valve is the flap right behind the choke. And the choke should open if you push the gas pedal all the way to the floor and let off real quick.
