Is Knock normal or ok ? Ever?

Hooked my car up to a mack scantool, i get a knock sensor reading after reving motor or accelerating hard, then letting off quikly. I have a hypertech chip, the correct one, and ive got a 454 tbi on it with an open element. thats it, would that stuff cause the knock sensor reading? Im sure its been this way for a while, and i havent noticed any adverse side effects. 102k miles. If this is bad, how do i fix it? i guess that would help. Thanks to anybody.

Is this a 305?
Big block TBI with stock 305 injectors and chip that advances timing could be running to lean under WOT.
Can you adjust fuel pressure?

yes 305, stock fuel pressure reg was already set at highest possible, i have a turbo city adjustable but there would be no way to turn that screw after putting it in. i didnt want to mess with it. stock injectors though i have 68#ers but i think need to wait till cam intake and headers are upgraded before being usefull. ive drivin around with a scantool hooked up for a couple days. its not lean at wot, acutally im pretty sure stays rich. Either way, it did this when completely stock too, except for the hypertech. its just the stage 1 chip. o yeah and ive got a 160 stat in too. is the chip just throughing off the knock sensor reading? my lifters, at least thats what i think it is, make ticking noises, not loud, just a louder than injector ticking. kinda sounds like bottom end bearings or something sometimes, like when i go thru a tunnel and give her the gas. No trouble codes, not mileage losses, pulls good and spins the tires. So wheres this knock sensor getting its crack from????

to start with, the reading comes at above 3000 rpm in open or closed loop. in drive or neutral.
Ok, i dont know whats going on with the knock, however i think it could be my chip and is probably my timing but i dont want to mess with that. till i know exactly how to.
I found that i had the top injector o-ring leaking on the passenger side of the car, oring was torn, installed a new one, all ok.
I hooked up the scantool. Again. and ive got 4.81 at wot on the tps, o2 is fine, and the tool reads rich at wot, perfect at idle.
One of my mechanics that works for me at my parents shop said he always thought my car sounded wrong, and that i needed to advance my timing.
I dont know anythying about timing, so? would anybody like to inform me of how to adjust? is my computer retarding it when it gets the knock sensor. I know the ls1 retards it until the gas level changes, my car doesnt do that does it?
I might just go with old theory if nobody helps me, sombody is giving my knock sensor some good crack? Really whats the worst that could happen from a little bit of pinging?
