454 tbi causes tranny differences?

ok, with the new tbi on the 305, my tranny shifts earlier. is this just the linkage? did i not get distance right when hooking it up? does air flow etc... have anything to do with when the tranny shifts?

part or full throttle? I have seen transmissions shift earlier or later at WOT with changes in other mods but they should remain the same at part throttle because that is regulated by the throttle valve which as you stated could be due to the linkage being out of adjustment. How early is early? it may not be enough to worry about, Kyle

Early, umm, 1500 rpm, at part throttle, o no, shes staying WIDE open until about 4850.
Its just that i drive the car everyday, and it shifts right before im usually used to accelerating, say out of a turn. It will shift mid turn instead of staying in first thru it and then shifting after im out of it. I used to have the option of giving it gas while in a turn and keeping it in first, taking off like a bat out of hell. Now it shifts to second and i accelerate under low rpms in second. great throaty exhaust tone, but not good acceleration. I think that should explain the problem. Im gone adjust the tranny cable, and see how it plays, but with it already shifting wot, high, im kind of afraid. We'll See

I'd try re-setting the TV cable first of all. The tv cable has enough adjustment room that it should re-calibrate just fine.
