gauge cluster replacement

I'm considering upgrading my gauges
from 185km/h to the 240 (thats 115mph and 145
mph for all you yanks).

Has anyone ever done this? Any tips or advice? Do I need any different parts?
Thanks.

Also, how do I get the right millage
on the new odometer?

Well, down here, you can either forward the mileage, or right the old milieage on the door frame in a permenent way. As for the swap, i think you'll just need to find a cluster from the same year or newer. i think in 88 is when the camaros finally got the plug in dash gauges... firebirds had them in 86 and newer, which is why my 88 formula gauges went into my 86. there shouldnt be any special tools needed...

If you unscrew the faces of the speedos to give yourself some room, you can pull the clips holding the odometer shafts and swap them.
