Need help with replacing fuel pump....
Ok, I've tried a lot of searches and I'm having trouble collecting all the necessary information to make a clean install of an EXTERNAL in-line fuel pump. I've figured out that most people use the Walbro 255lph or something like that, but I've still got a lot of questions. For reference, I've got a 92 TPI 350 with the stock electric in-take pump, wanting to install an external one. I don't have a problem with dropping the tank so those instructions are unnecessary.
1) What is the exact part number for the right Walbro pump for me?
2) Where should I place the pump and does it need to be bracketed to the car or just connected to the fuel lines?
3) I suspect I'll have to cut the fuel lines somewhere - what do I need to get and how do I connect it to the new pump? (Fittings, etc)
4) What do I do with the current intank pump? Leave it? Pull it out? If I'm supposed to pull it out, what do I do with the fuel lines that go into the tank?
5) What is the proper way to get electricity to the pump and do I need a wiring harness, adapter, etc.
6) What are some common concerns or complications and how do I avoid them?
7) Anything I forgot to ask?
Thanks guys. It always helps to have the advice of the more experienced!

1. You don't HAVE to use a Walboro, I have a Bosch.
2. Yes it needs to be mounted to the underside of the car, mine's in front of the tank.
3. The pump should come with most of the fittings, other than that I just used some very thick rubber hose and some clamps, but you can buy all kinds of proper fittings from jegs if you want.
4. I think I broke my old one off and bent the pickup line so it would get to the bottom of the tank.
5. I ran a wire from the battery, to a hidden switch, to the pump so I can kill it when sitting for antitheft.
6. Just be sure not to run it dry as that quickly can kill the pump.
7. That about covers it.

Thanks so much for your input! How's the Bosch working out for you, what is its part number and specs? Is running the line to the bottom of the tank the proper way to do it?
Any more suggestions or advice is appreciated!

I don't know if that requires that I have carburator, which I don't, so I don't think it would work out for me. Thanks anyway though.

it has a 3/8th's feed, 5/16th's return, and a vapor line and a vent line, its the same as yours except it doesnt have the internal pump wiring or provisions for one, the feed line just drops down to the end of the sending unit and theres a sock on it like what your electric fuel pump has on the end of it
