How would i go about cleaning a severely dirty iron intake manifold? I tried hosing it down but that didnt go over to well.... the oil didnt go no where, So then i just took a rag to it and it works, but now my whole rag is black with oil and the manifold is still horrible.... any ideas? im not looking to polish the crap out of it... just clean it up so i can put it on my car tomorrow... any help is appreciated, thanks.

engine degreaser and a pressure washer will do wonders

 

Actually if theres a autozone around they make a cleaner especially for iron parts back to new,but nothing ever works better than a tooth brush and a spray bottle full of good ole 1.50 cents a gallon gasoline.best parts cleaner there is except when doing brakes.

 

Permatex 4MA Gasket Remover, some diesel fuel, and the quarter car wash.
