I think I have a fuel pressure leak...questions within

Well the last few days my car has felt a little sluggish so tonight I hooked up a fuel pressure and vac gauge just to see what's up. The vac level looked good, but I'm not sure about the fuel pressure. I noticed way back when that when I checked the pressure the psi would shoot up to the set amount and slowly drop after a few minutes. Now however the pressure drops from 45 all the way to 20 psi in less than a minute!! What all could be causing this leak? I'm just guessing maybe it's my gasket for the AFPR because I remember slightly damaging it when it was installed a year ago...maybe it finally went bad all the way? I don't see it leaking however.
Also how much of a power loss could a leak like that cause? Maybe this leak that has become worse now could attribute to my poor dyno numbers? The pressure seems constant when the car is running....I didn't drive it but did rev it up quite a bit by hand.

FP is basically at the heart of the delivery ssytem, without it you're not going to make any power. leak could be injector, FPR. pump. or any place that has a seal. if you suspect the FPR i'd start there.

Is there a way to test the AFPR gasket or eliminate the other possibilities? All parts are a year old and shouldn't be leaking. The only reason I suspect the regulator is that I painted it and then tried to remove the gasket and it tore slightly due to paint sticking to it. Also how could I test the injectors? The car gets horrible gas mileage and I thought it was due to the chip but maybe not? It passed emissions last summer with flying colors and had the same mpg as it does now.

That does sound likes it bleeding off too fast BUT if it holds while revving the motor then it should be OK. Anyone else?
