Is it the solenoid that fails during starter heat soak problems???

I have started to have some starter heat soak problems recently and need to fix that. Is it the solenoid that is overheating, or something else? I see summit has a solenoid relocation kit for $25, just wanting to double check that this will likely fix the problem. I've heard of people wrapping the starter itself w/ insulating junk, but that seems like it might trap heat in as much as it keeps heat out. Ideas? I have no money to buy a special starter or anything, I really am hoping the relocation kit is the answer...

Hey Ray...I would Get the kit from Summit! I had the same problems with mine when I installed headers. After sitting for a 1/2 hour each time waiting for the starter to cool I finaly bought one from summit. Its easy to install and I never had a hotstart problem again. It is the soleniod thats the problem if the sarter is in good condition.
