door panel

anyone know how in the hell to get the top piece of the door panel off, the plastic piece which sits next to the window?

Daddy (nothing personal, I'm sure),

The upper rail seal and upper trim is attached to the inner door trim panel. Once the armrest, mirror, window, latch, and lock controls are removed, the inner door panel can be removed. It will hang from the top rail, and can be pivoted outward at the bottom, then lifted off the top rail of the door.

It is easy to remove the trim panel without damage if you have the trim clip removal tool. You'll probably want to replace the plastic clips, however, since they tend to get distorted when they are pulled from the door holes.
