Removing Emissions. Computer sideffects? BAD?
Would i notice any side effects if i removed all my emissions stuff on my car? I have no emmissions here in iowa, so i figure, if i can i should right. I would gain power? Easier to work on my car? No huge computer problems? if someone could explain to me what would happen or what happened to them after they did this, and exactly! how to do this correctly i would appreciate it. Thanks

A high-flow exhaust system would do more for you than removing all your "emissions stuff". Get headers, high-flow cat, and cat-back system: It'll run better and still run clean.
You never know when emissions testing will come to your area, or you'll end up in a place that has it. If you remove your air pump, vapor canister and EGR (about all the "emissions stuff" you have with a functioning TBI), keep it in a box for the future. I hope you kept your factory air cleaner, too.

too late i already ripped up my factory air cleaner. trying to get that valve out, and so i could get it to point straight forward. Im in IOWA. even if emissions came here, you could always get around it by getting checked in a small town by paying the guy 20 bucks. I know i could have done that at about 5 shops when i lived in fort collins, CO. Anyway, everything will work right, without that stuff. will there be a performance gain, because that would be nice but not why im doing it. I want to take it off to clean up the engine compartment, so engine work is easier.
Snuff,
What other "emissions stuff" are you contemplating removing?
