Any one know the texas visual inspection rules? I want to get a set of SLP or Hooker headers for my car. I can only afford the ones without the AIR tubing. Will this cause my car to fail? Will my car start throwing codes?

If your car has to get the sniffer test then it will more than likely fail for visual.If you live outside of Dallas/FT.Worth counties then it might pass. I live in Plano on my 89 GTA it had a exhaust leak that had to be fixed(I lived in Oregon for a year and from the cat back was rotted out but got a nice 3" and flowmaster setup)and they did not even look under the hood. Now when I live in Dallas County and had a 79 TA without cats and true duals(and cross over pipe) they hooked up the sniffer and it was cleaner than my moms 96 regal that was less than two years old. You could try getting it inspected with the smog pump removed and see if they notice.
