fuel pump problems

fuel pump problems

i have a 1986 camaro with a 89 350 tpi the fuel pump went bad the engine was originally a 305 could the pump be the wrong size? and what is the easy way to take it out and change it...I heard about cutting a hole in the trunk is this safe? or do i have to drop the axle? thanks for any replies

drop exhaust, rearend, and tank.

if the fuel pump is the org, then it most likely is bad. when i decide to change my pump out for a hi po one, once i get it out, i plan on cutting a hole in the hatch so if i ever need to change again, it will be easy.
