Help, No start, no fuel spray, code 53
I posted a thread some time ago. It was about my VATS not letting my car start because the injectors were not energizing. I was wrong. My security system is fine. I bought a new key, ignition switch, and a new cylinder. The VATS shuts down the started, not the injectors.
OK, Back to step 1.
I have a 1992 Firebird Formula, V8 5.0 TBI. I have plenty of spark and fuel PSI, but the injectors wont energize. If I bypass the injectors with a 9volt battery, the car starts. Im getting a code 53, but My VATS is just fine. WHAT CAN THIS BE????
Is there a sensor or something???? What would cause the Injectors to not energize even though they have plenty of fuel PSI. What would make the ecm not enable the injectors???

Well it still sounds like a Vats thing to me. I am not 100% sure with the TBI cars, but my 89 TPI the VATS disables the injector pulse, and not the starter. But again I have not played with alot of TBI cars. you may even have a bad ECM or prom.
