how to install a tach?

i got a tach my sister wants me to put in her ranger. she took it out of her old car, so i dont have diagrams or anything. to top it all off, its a 97 ranger with a 4 banger distributerless ignition and 8 plugs. i aint much on working on this new ****, so i need yalls help. i know its a ford, but im sure one of you knows how to do it. the tach has green, white, red and black wires. i would think the red and black are power supply, the white is ground, and the green would go to the coil. But where?
surely someone can help me out.

go to who ever made her tack's web site. you should be able to find installation instructions there.

True! When I bought my Sun tach 6 years ago, it had crap 1 page instructions- "connect the green to the tach lead." I helped a friend install a Sun tach (same one), and it had detailed multiple-page instructions, Ford included. Figures!
