Fuel Filter Replacement

I've just replaced the fuel filter on my Camaro and developed a leak from the fuel fitting screw where it meets the pipe. This is on both sides of the filter. There was no rubber gasket in the packaging for the filter. Should there be a gasket/o-ring?

That is a flare type fitting, there should be no gasket or O-Ring. Be sure you go in straight and tighten it good, it is a metal to metal seal.
