diff fluid level?

diff fluid level?

what should the diff fluid level be? and where is the filler plug at? i remember filling it up once through a steel plug on the right side, is that the plug or is there another one up top? if there is, i may not have put enough...

Locry,

What axle housing do you have? Borg axles have a rubber plug snapped into the rear cover, and Saginaw axles have a 1/2" pipe plug in the side of the housing adjacent to an axle tube. The proper level is at the bottom of the inspection plug opening (oil should just be running out a bit). Remember that the vehicle should be level when checking the fluids.

i have no idea what axle i have, the plug i'm referring to is about 3/4 of the way up relative to diff cover, is that about right?
