Ignition coil question

Anybody heard of the Pertronix Flame thrower coil? Is this any good or should I pay an extra $6 for the Crane PS91 coil?? I've narrowed it down to those two based on price and easy installation. Should I increase the gap on my plugs with a higher voltage coil?

i'd go with crane based on the name, personally i'd run accel or msd. you ought to be able to increase plug gap about .005 to .010.

Is the purpose of increasing the gap to produce a longer spark and therefore burning the air/fuel mixture more?
