so much wires! what do do?

k people i need some advise i got so much wires runnin around in my engine bay that is not hooked up. i was wonder it there some sort of diagram i could look at or wire colour i can go by that can help me put them in the right spot or take out what is not needed. oh its a 83 z28

Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 4.10 Posi
You can get a haynes manual and use the wiring diagram, or get a factory service manual from helm (www.helminc.com) or ebay. Either should be pretty useful when it comes to the harness.

Have you removed the smog equipment, etc?

all smog stuff was removed from pre owner. i was thinking some of the wires could be from that.

There should be a connector for the AIR port solenoid, another for the AIR divert solenoid, one for the EGR solenoid, one for the TPS on the left of the carb, one for the MC solenoid on top of the carb, one for an idle speed solenoid on the left of the carb, one to the tach filter, one for the CTS on the intake, one for a dash temperature gauge on teh left head, one for the oil pressure gauge, one for the electric choke heater, one for the TCC solenoid, and a partridge in a pear tree...
