I have a 89 camaro w/ a 350 tbi , and a couple of weeks ago I noticed a drop in oil pressure on my guage. When I idle it sits at like 8 psi and when I get on it , it raises to about 20 psi . My tach is already busted so I figured it was a bad guage,and I dont drive it but once a week so I decided not to mess with it . Now I am hearing this knocking sound that sounds like a loose rocker arm near the #8 piston. I figure that I damage a rod or the bearings anyone got any suggestions as to how to figure out what it is . I appreciate any help you can give me , Thanks.

 

put a mechanical gauge on it and see what you really have. if it sounds liek a rocker it'd be logical to look at the rockers.

 

Alright , I took the valve covers off and reset the valve lash and that did nothing , I reset my timing that also did nothing , my friend thinks its an exhaust leak but I am sure its coming from the # 8 cylinder , I am going to check the pressure tomorrow.
