350 Build Up
350 Build Up
I am getting a 350 and was wondering what all I should do to build it up HP wise. The guy I got it from said it was out of a C3 Vette. I don't want to start replacing parts, only to have them produce less than the Vette parts. So far my ideas are:
Edelbrock Air Gap intake
Roller rockers, roller lifters
800 cfm carb - what brand?
I need to know what a good cam would be with all the specs, what would be a good carb, is the intake a good idea, what headers (it is for a 69 Camaro), and what kind of pistons, and most importantly, what kind of heads? I was thinking of the Vortec ones that everyone is talking about, but is that a good idea? Thanks in advance for any and all of your input!!!!

Well how much did the C3's make? 260hp? (i have no idea)
With the right cam, a 700cfm carb and those vortec heads, people have been getting around 350-400+hp
theres also the Edelbrock RPM package that advertises 420hp as well
depending on how much the C3 parts can make you.. perhaps go with all aftermarket and sell your C3 parts for $$$?
not sure how much they worth though
I dont think you need anything bigger than 700cfm on your 350 IMHO, well tuned it should more than plenty for a street machine.
