Steering Box Question
Steering Box Question
Hey everyone, I read some of the other posts about steering box questions on here. But I still haven't found an answer to my question. I recently purchased a steering box from an 89 iroc off of E-Bay. The guy had very good reviews, and seemed like a very straight up guy. He claims this is the (Famous XH coded box) the best box GM ever made for our cars....Is this true?...Anyone ever heard of this?.....I checked the box and it does have XH stamped on it, is this a good box? What's the ratio?....It does seem to go lock to lock in 12.25 turns, and this is with my crappy 14in tires. By the way, will there be a problem with my my small tires and this box?.....Thank you.

Check the box for a casting # of "26000525", that's the 2.25 turn box I bought from a 1987 IROC-Z.

The quick ratio boxes usually have a large Z cast in the body of the box.
