Demon Carbs?

Has anyone used them? Are they any better than Holley or Edelbrock? Just interested since I need a good carb to go on my ZZ4.

they are unquestionably better. Every dyno test I have seen of them provides more HP than a standard holley and better BSFC numbers. I have a race demon (not the removable sleeve version) and it is a very good carb. You should consider one of the speed demons for a stock zz4.

Well it won't be stock. See I am swapping most of my mods over onto the ZZ4. Like the open element, pulleys, headers, wires, ect...Then for my exaust I have a custom 3" exaust w/ no cat and flowmaster 80 series. So it will be well modified. Should I still stick with the Speed Demon carb after that?

I would. Most of your mods are the standard things a ZZ4 needs anyways. They really need good flowing exhaust to make hp. Look at this page http://www.gpt300.com/demoncarbs/speed_.htm

The 1282010 and the 1402010 are both double pumpers. If you are planning on using at least a 2000 stall converter the 1402 would be ok. I think you will get better gas mileage and throttle response with the 1282 otherwise. Actually, if you have the hood clearance, I would go with the 1282 carb and use a 1 inch open spacer. That will increase the high rpm hp a little.

If you plan to change heads or the cam in the future a race demon would be a better choice. The race demons have 4 corner idle circuits, screw in air bleeds, and other mods to make an engine respond well with a big cam. The race demons are about 400 bucks more than the speed demons.

I bolted one on after taking off the Edelbrock 750cfm. Noticably better carb all the way around.

Thanks man, but that auction just ended. I would rather buy it from Demon Carb themselves for that price. Well these Demon carbs sound pretty nice. I think that is what I am going to go with. Thanks guys.

I ran a Speed Demon 850 DP all season on my race car. Other than playing with jets and squirters and pump cams the only other thing I had to do was install jet extensions on the secondaries. It's a nice carb to work with. A Holley HP carb is actually better but also costs more $$$.
