hey, by boy just put a 350 into his firebird like last week and i think something is really wrong. his car will not smoke the tires from the line when ge goes WOT. but in revers it burn like crazy. he gots header and a edlebrock carb and intake. i mean this cant be right. but dont get me wrong the car is still fast. he beat my friend with a z24 from a stop, z24 stayed at door for a bit then his firebird just went by us. i was in the z24, but anyway him and me both no something is not right, my 350 burns the tires no prob. whats up with his car, its like it dont start out right. any ideas would be great.

 

Isn't spinning off the line the last thing you wanna do anyway?
Maybe he is getting that elusive thing we like to call "traction"

for that u would have good tires his tires are at the point of replaceing, they are almost bald in the middle.

 

sounds like he needs to do some tuning.. i'd suggest adjusting the timing properly, the idle mixture, the jets in the carb, adjust the tv cable if its auto, and go from there.
