Engine code??

Guy I know has a fairly built 305 TBI, but it's not the original motor.... His car however was an RS and as far as I know, the original in this RS WAS a 305 TBI, it's just a different motor in there now. His car was a 90-92, therefore his engine code should be L03. I looked at the sticker under his hood...it was a GM sticker, for a 305, but it said something like LAC. What the hell is an LAC motor?? I've never heard of anything like that in my life... I might be mistaken on the code..but I definitely know it wasn't an LO3 and nothing on the tech data on the site looks familiar. Thanks!

The three-character code on the VECI label under the hood often does not display the RPO number of the engine installed. My LB9 doesn't have an "LB9" anywhere on the VECI label.
