I would like to hear what you guys think about these engines. Like pros/cons, personal experience, anything that will help me decide which of these I will be dropping in the TA in a few weeks.

Ok, this is the one that I'm looking at as the best choice mainly because I don't have to get a vortec manifold for it.

And finally this one, which I like because it has the aluminum heads, but it is a non-roller cam and that is not really what I'm looking for.

I would really like any input that you guys can give me. I'm going to be getting about 3000 dollars to put into some things, but I really can't spend every penny on this car. I'm looking for a decent engine that will work with my factory TPI, with a chip burnt by me, and #24 injectors. I'll probably put headers in while the engine is out. I've done a lot of searching and have about 25 pages printed to help with my research, but any personal experience or input would be greatly appreciated. I was really leaning toward building up a short block but I don't think it will work out as well as a crate.
